Join the CPAWS Quebec Board of Directors!

Would you like to increase your involvement in the nature conservation? We are looking for three dynamic people to take on administrative, management and communication responsibilities, in the pursuit of our goal to preserve at least 50% of public wilderness.

Who are we?
CPAWS is a non-profit organization exclusively dedicated to the preservation of our public wild land and water. With more than 50,000 supporters across Canada, we are celebrating our founding 50 years ago.

Created in 2001, CPAWS Quebec is an unincorporated chapter of the Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society (CPAWS/SNAP). Our main focus is on establishing a network of protected areas throughout the province, protection of our forests and marine environments, and the proper management of existing parks and protected areas.

How can you become a member of the Board of Directors?
Send your application to before April 12, 2013. Your application must include:
- A brief biography
- A photograph of yourself
- A letter outlining the reasons why you want to join the Board of Directors

All applicants will be contacted by a member of the recruiting committee. If more than three candidates are selected, elections will be held during the Annual General Meeting in May.

Be a member in good standing of CPAWS Quebec.
Have a passion for the CPAWS mission to preserve at least 50% of our public wilderness.
Since we would like to enhance our capabilities in fundraising and accounting, such skills would be assets.

Members of the Board of Directors meet twice a year, in addition to five telephone meetings. In total, there are between 16 and 24 hours of meeting annually.
Members of the Board of Directors are highly encouraged to take part in one or more subcommittees (currently, conservation, involvement, and the executive committee).
